Rock On! Top-rope Climbing Clinic at Great Falls Park
Cost: Payment required - $80 per person - includes harness, helmet, shoes, and all other group gear (ropes, carabiners, etc.) Bring $5 for parking at Great Falls Park!
Join us for an introduction to top-rope rock climbing at Sugarloaf Mountain, near Dickerson, MD. During this 5-hour instructional program you'll focus on the basics of outdoor rock climbing, including:
tying-in using a figure-8 knot
belaying using an ATC (belay plate)
rappelling from the top of a cliff
basic rock climbing movement
Whether you are new to the sport, or have a little experience under your belt, the climbs at Sugarloaf Mountain are a great place to work on the skills of outdoor rock climbing.
